Will the Hub serve the whole of Dacorum?
-
There is uncertainty about whether the planned Hemel Health Campus or Hub will be designed to serve just the town itself
- The project is now being treated by the NHS as a ‘neighbourhood health centre’ rather than a hospital
- Page 34 of the Council’s Local Plan says the Campus is planned to provide ‘hospital and other specialist facilities that serve the wider needs of the town, and general practice facilities to meet the rising demand in the immediate area.’
- There is no mention of serving the hospital needs of the Borough of Dacorum
- It would be useful for the Council and NHS to clarify whether the Hub is to serve the whole of the area – or just Hemel
